I attended the Franklin Time Management course and used the Franklin Planning system for many years which I loved along with the company's sharp customer focus. However, as good as the paper products are and the outstanding customer support FC provides for them, it is exactly opposite for the more progressive electronic versions of the Franklin system. After waiting years for a decent iPhone app, I have given up on FC ever creating an electronic version that will rival their paper offerings. What they have put out for the iPhone in the past has been trash, and they dragged their feet with every step toward it's initial introduction as well as desparately needed bug fixes which were never fully realized.

However, I did just find a 3rd party app that is just what I have been looking for, ever  since getting my first 3G iPhone.

Go to the app store and search for "Planandnote". It's regularly $7.00 and is being offered for a few days at 50% off. I am not affilliated with the app designer in any way but I think it's a great app that will meet the needs of nearly all Franklin planner users, looking for an iPhone alternative. I think it will become very popular, but it's a new app, just introduced October 25th.

If FC ever gets it's act together and decides to support it's smart phone using customer base, that has moved beyond paper, I might take another look. Until then, I'm perfectly content with this new option.

You might also check out "Benjamin" in the App Store. It's an iPhone app that follows the FranklinCovey system for tasks and note taking. It should serve as a pretty good replacement for the Franklin Planner when used in conjunction with the built-in Calendar and Contacts apps.
