Ahh…fall. The temperatures have dropped back into the realm of comfortable, the kids have gone back to school, and the house is just a little quieter now. Mornings are turning crisp, and you can sense a hint of chill in the air. While winter isn’t far away, the weather is almost perfect.

Now that you're committed to getting organized in 2010, it's time to get serious. Nobody likes organizing the garage, but if you do it right, it’s so worth it. Usually, garages and sheds turn into giant dumping grounds. That’s because we don’t take the time to give them a sense of order.

It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t have something they want to improve when it comes to personal fitness. Even the exercising obsessed with solid bodies can find something to work on. Most of us, though, just want to feel better. We want more energy. We might want to trim off a few pounds, or we may have an even larger goal in mind. But exercising means effort, discomfort, and messing with an already crazy schedule. How do we break that cycle and actually begin improving our health? Here are some suggestions to help you squeeze more physical activity into your routine.

Schedules are wonderful. At no time is that more evident than during summer break, when your children’s schedules evaporate. As part of the challenge to get organized in 2010, we’re focusing on your children’s summer downtime. We’re sure you’ll agree it’s one of the biggest challenges yet. But organizing that time is important because as schedules evaporate, so does their productivity. Before you know it, summer will be over and they’ll have precious little to show for that time. And that can be frustrating, even for kids.

When space is at a premium, organizing options can feel limited to non-existent. If your closets are tiny or already crammed full, or if the only storage you can find is at the top of your garage, it’s time to get creative with solutions that are ceiling- high and off-the-wall.

Most of us like to dig out in the spring. After months of holing up through the cold season, we get an itch to start fresh. That’s great, but have you ever cleaned out an area and still felt like nothing had really changed? If you’ve ever cleaned your garage—thrown out a bunch of junk, swept the floor, and made room for both of your cars—but still couldn’t find your Allen Wrench set, you know what we mean. No matter how much you clean, you’re still going to feel buried until you get organized.
